New is not only the material, but also the renouncement of gumming the running surface. It is an innovation with extensive effects.
Of extreme importance is
- no gumming on the running surface of the wheels means no tumbling of gummy, i.e. abressive from the running wheels in front of and below the running band knife
- the running surface of the band-knife-wheel can be provided with treads
Consequences
- no heat development
- hereby no heating of the band knife
- hereby no elongation of the band knife
- hereby no readjustment of the band knife
- no cracking of the band knife by overstretching, if the operator forgets to remove the tension before cold starting
Advantages that accrued
- no charges for renewing of worn or damaged gumming
- hereby no costs for non-operation periods
- by providing the running wheels with treats also wet materials can be cut (no "aquaplaning" of the band knife)
- braking time in less than 2 seconds by use of novel material
- deliverable in all marketable dimensions

For these running wheels the patent registration is in process. The entry into the register of utility models has already taken place.
